Liverpool reached the semi-finals of the League Cup with an emphatic 6-1 win at Southampton. The Reds fell behind in the first minute, when Sadio Mane sent a thunderous header past Adam Bogdan. However, a quick-fire double from the returning Daniel Sturridge turned the game around mid-way through the first half. Divock Origi scored a hat-trick, with Jordan Ibe also finding the net, to set up a last-four meeting with Stoke City. The other semi-final tie sees Everton clash with Manchester City.
