That’s the message from the Economist Intelligence Unit, who say something needs to be done to combat the Emirates’ diabetes epidemic. Clear food labelling is another suggestion. Government health-care spending on diabetes is expected to rise fourfold between 2010 and 2030. The report reveals many EU countries have already implemented this kind of taxation policy with some success.
