UAE rain enhancement programme evaluates winners

NULL

Organisers of The UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement have held a final evaluation meeting to decide the winners of its inaugural competition. The ambitious initiative was announced earlier this year to help arid and semi-arid regions overcome water scarcity by using technology to stimulate rainfall. Up to five projects will be selected as winners for the $5 million (AED 18.36 million) grant to be awarded over three years. Prize-winning proposals will be announced during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in January.
