The UAE has launched an urgent humanitarian response to severe floods and landslides in Sri Lanka, following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Through the Joint Operations Command, the UAE Aid Agency, and Emirates Red Crescent, the response includes search and rescue operations by Abu Dhabi Civil Defence teams and the delivery of essential food and shelter supplies to affected communities.
The disaster has claimed at least 355 lives, with hundreds missing and over a million people impacted.
The UAE’s intervention aims to support rapid recovery and restore stability, reflecting its commitment to helping vulnerable communities worldwide.
Relief includes access to food, medicine, clothing and shelter, with more humanitarian assistance on the way to help Sri Lanka rebuild.
