The UAE on Friday strongly condemned a shooting at an adult education centre in Sweden that killed 11 people, expressing solidarity with the victims' families.

In a statement, the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it permanently rejects "all forms of violence that aim to destabilize security and stability."

Seven women and four men were killed in a shooting at an adult education centre in Orebro city on Tuesday, before the perpetrator turned the firearm on himself, in the worst mass shooting incident in Sweden's history.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims and have not yet identified a motive for the attack.

The Swedish government of Friday said it was looking to tighten gun laws in response to the incident.
