UAE and US discuss strategic ties

The UAE and the United States have discussed ways to strengthen their strategic partnership.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The discussion covered expanding cooperation in economic, scientific and technology sectors, including AI and advanced tech, in support of development goals in both countries.

The two sides also discussed regional developments, including the crisis in Sudan, with Sheikh Abdullah emphasising the importance of activating the provisions of the Quad framework — involving the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the US — to help end the conflict and advance a peaceful resolution.

The call also covered efforts to ease the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation for US efforts to support stability and work towards lasting peace in the region.
