There has been a strong response to a blood donation appeal for injured UAE soldiers. Collection centres were set up across the country on Saturday, following the attack in Yemen that killed 45 Emirati servicemen and left at least 60 wounded. Several appeals were posted on social media over the weekend and blood banks had opened especially to accommodate the large number of donors. According to reports, there were long queues at the centres and many donors had to be turned away.
