Minor earthquake hits Al Sila area in Abu Dhabi

A minor earthquake, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, struck the coastal town of Al Sila in Abu Dhabi early Friday.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed the quake struck at 12:03 am. 

It said the tremor was lightly felt in the area but caused no major impact.

Al Sila is located near the border with Saudi Arabia and is part of the Al Dhafra region.
