Free parking in Dubai for Hijri New Year holiday

Motorists in Dubai will enjoy free parking during the Islamic New Year holiday.

That's according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which said all paid parking zones, except for multi-level terminals, will be free to use from Thursday, August 12 to Friday, August 13.

The parking meters will be reactivated on Saturday, August 14.

The RTA has also modified the timings for public transport services in Dubai.

Dubai Metro will run from 5:00 am to 1:00 am (on the following day) on both Red and Green lines, with the Dubai Tram running from 6:00 am to 1:00 am (the next day).

Public bus services will operate as follows: At Main Stations, including Gold Souq Station, from 04:50 am to 12:30 am, and Al-Ghubaiba Station from 04:15 am to 01:00 am (of the following day).

The Marine Transport means will operate as follows: The Water Bus will operate at Dubai Marina Stations (BM1) (Marina Mall, Marina Walk) from noon up to midnight, and (Marina Promenade, Marina Mall), (Marina Terrace, Marina Walk) from 02:00 pm to 10:50 pm. Roundtrips in Creek (Al Seef and Baniyas Marine Stations) from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Traditional Abra will operate at Dubai Creek Stations as follows: Dubai Old Souq – Baniyas from 10:00 am to 01:00 am (of the following day), Al Fahidi – Al Sabkha and Al Fahidi- Old Deira Souq from 10:00 am to 12:30 am, Baniyas – Al Seef from 10:00 am to 01:00 am (of the following day), Dubai Old Souq – Al Fahidi – Al Seef from 04:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Al Jaddaf – Dubai Festival City from 08:00 am to midnight. The tourist services from the Sheikh Zayed Road Station, and Dubai Creek Stations (Al Seef, Al Fahidi, Al Ghubaiba and Al Sabkha Stations), and from Al Jaddaf to Dubai Festival City, will be from 04:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

The Ferry will run service during the holiday on the line Al Ghubaiba- Dubai Water Canal- Marina Mall at 05:15 pm. The Ferry tourist service will run from Al Ghubaiba at 04:00 pm, and the tourist service from Marina Mall Station will run at 04:00 and 07:30 pm. The Water Taxi will run (on demand) from 12:00 (noon) to 08:00 pm (clients need to make a prior booking).

Service provider centres (Vehicle Technical Testing) and customer happiness centres will be closed on Thursday and resume duty on Saturday. Smart customer happiness centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Manara, Al Kafaf, Al Tawar, and RTA Head Office will continue service as usual.
