Public schools and educational institutions in the UAE will continue with distance learning for another week, until January 21.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) confirmed the extension during its latest media briefing on developments related to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, in-person examinations in schools and universities have been postponed till at least January 28.
NCEMA said the decision is applicable at the national level, but the local authorities in each emirate can decide what works best for them.
Education Sector: The pandemic is being closely monitored, to facilitate the safe return of students, teachers and administrative staff at educational facilities and protect their health and safety.
