Instead of throwing out your fluorescent bulbs you can now recycle them! As today marks World Energy Day, the Dubai Municipality has launched a campaign to collect and recycle CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs. Private firm Lamps 4 U has teamed up with the municipality for this initiative and will be providing custom made vapour lock foil bags and trash cans to collect the burnt out bulbs and recycle them. According to officials at the environmental awareness department all fluorescent bulbs contain mercury which is a toxic material which is why it is important to recycle them.
