Arab League leaders and members from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reiterated their commitment to cooperate with US President Donald Trump in a joint statement, stressing on the importance of his leadership to end the war in Gaza.

During a multilateral summit convened by Trump and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the UN Headquarters, leaders and top officials of the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia emphasised the need to achieve an immediate ceasefire that would ensure releasing the hostages and allowing the entry of sufficient humanitarian aid as the first step toward a just and lasting peace.

They also reiterated the common position rejecting forced-displacement and the need to allow the return of those who left, highlighting the unbearable situation in the Gaza Strip, including the humanitarian catastrophe and high human toll, as well as its serious consequences for the region and impact on the Muslim world as a whole.

Supporting Palestinian Authority reform efforts, the Arab leaders emphasised the need to work out details of a plan for stabilisation, while ensuring stability in the West Bank and Jerusalem’s holy sites.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering support for all initiatives that contribute to ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He also underscored the importance of avoiding unilateral measures that undermine international efforts to realise the two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state.

While no specific outcomes of the meeting have been revealed, Trump acknowledged the summit as the "most important meeting" in efforts to end the war in Gaza.
