His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has met with the President and CEO of Amazon, Andrew R. Jassy.
The meeting reviewed opportunities to strengthen cooperation and enhance strategic partnerships across various vital sectors, including e-commerce, cloud computing, advanced technology, digital innovations, and artificial intelligence solutions.
The UAE and Amazon have had several partnerships that support the D33 agenda.
In 2023, Amazon agreed to double the amount of small and medium enterprises to 100,000 on its UAE store by 2026. Another deal saw the launch of an accelerator to boost the growth of SMEs in Dubai by helping them build a strong online presence and digitise supply chain processes.
The meeting was attended by Jassem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance, and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon Web Services, was also present.
